Rachael Holder
At only six years old, when Rachael was not allowed to watch any TV, She wrote her own play. Side Effects May Vary, her first off-off Broadway play, was about the HIV/AIDS epidemic and young African American and Latina women. Rachael now works full-time for Coconut Daughters , a production company she started in 2005 along with her sisters. They just completed a feature film Thuli, in Cape Town , South Africa in association with TAC , a nobel nominated organization. This project was Rachael’s sceenwriting debut. She is currently in pre-production of It’s All Temporary, a Off-Broadway project, which she wrote and will direct this summer. Not all of her work is issued-based , “I think it’s important to have an analysis of some kind in any type of artist work,” Says Rachael.
